Location: South of Koh Chang at Salakphet Bay, about 27 km from Dan Kao Pier.
How to get there: Turn left from Dan Kao Pier to Ban Salakphet Crossroad and turn right for 8 km to Trat Market , walk to Wat Klang, the temple near the intersection where you can take the mini-bus service to Ban Salakphet. The bus will leave at 10.00, 13.00 and 15.00 hr, the fare including the ferryboat service is 50 baht each. The mini-bus will board the ferryboat at Center Point Pier, reach Koh Chang at the way back the bus will leave Ban Rong Than at 05.00, 07.00, 11.00 and 13.00 hr to Trat Charging 50 baht per person.

Salakphet Bay is the large bay of semicircle shape with high mountains as the block of wind. It is consequently the safe area of no storm where fishermen like to park their boats. This village was so-called the Texas of Koh Chang due to many boats floating at the area and many fishermen. Although Ban Salakphet is now the quiet place, It is still charming having a lot of elevated houses on the pillars stretching to the sea with wooden bridges between each house as the piers. The sunrise scenery here is very fantastic. The beach has no swimming area but has Loh Laoya, Koh Wai and Koh Mai Si.

Koh Chang’s highest mountain peak is located at Ban Slakphet called Salakphet Mountain Peak. If you plan to reach the peak, contact for the guide at the National Park Ranger Unit (Salakphet). The trek to Klong and khiriphet Waterfall starts from this

Location: Southeast of Koh chang, about 19 km from Dan Kao Pier.
How to get there: From Dan Kao Pier, turn left along the asphalt road to Ban Salakkok Crossroad (19 km). Turn left to Salakkok Temple and turn left at the next crossroad for one km to Ban Salakkok at the estuary. Ban Salakkok is nowadays, the quiet village with interesting historical places: Watchakhama Cotchathawip Temple or Salakkok Temple, the temple visited by King Rama V. He was asked to place his feet on the location which later was the construction site of Salakkok Temple.

Villagers still lead their local lifestyle as fishermen, growing Para rubber, coconut trees, selling food and appliances. There are also a school and pier where you will find fresh seafood. The area is also very fertile with mangrove forest that is very interesting to visit.

One day tour is suitable since the village has only one resort and no homestay house at the present time. It is better to stay at Salakphet or Jek Bae Village nearby. The boat tour to the mangrove forests is arranged at the cost of 300 baht (chartered boat). You can contact the villagers at Salakkok Bay.

Location: East of Koh Chang, about 12 km from Dan Kao Pier.
How to get there: Turn left from Dan Kao Pier passing the hospital, Ban Klong Bonsi, sub district office until reaching Koh Chang National Park Ranger Unit (Thanmayom)

In the past Thanmayom Pier was known as the gateway to Koh Chang, the pier for the boat from Laem Ngob Cape. There used to be the old resort but has already been closed named Thanmayom Resort. This area is now the site of the National Park Ranger Unit and official pier.

The front beach is about 100 m long, the swimming area and the beautiful sunrise viewpoint. Behind the Ranger Unit Office is the path to Thanmayom Waterfall, the historical waterfall of Koh Chang at the distance of about 300 mm Nature trail berween Thanmayom and Klong Plu Waterfall is also located here having the distance of about 7 km.

Facilities: One tourist information center and restaurant, camping area, toilets. Camping rate is 30 baht each and 400 baht for the tents and facilities, 800 baht will be charged for the tour guide of nature trail including entrance fee and food. Contact the officer at the entrance of the waterfall for more information.
