Los Angeles Marathon - Two Colombians compete at Los Angeles Marathon
Colombian marchers Diego Colorado and Jason Gutierrez will compete at Los Angeles Marathon in U.S. to be held on May 25 with the participation of sportsmen from more than 30 countries.
According to a press communique on Friday from Atletas con Provernir Team, Colorado and Gutierrez
traveled on Friday to U.S. where they expect to have a good performance at the competence.
Pedro Elias Ortiz has been the only Colombian who has won this marathon of short more than 42 kilometers.
Colorado competed two years ago in this marathon, in that time he crossed the finish line in 10th place with a time of 2 hours, 16 minutes and 48 seconds and he said that “with more experience, he can expect to have a better performance.”
The favorites for this marathon are Tariku Junfar, Laban Kipkemboi and Paul Kosgei who have marks under two hours and 10 minutes.
Los Angeles Marathon began on 1986 and since that time five Latin Americans have won it, Mexican Martin Mondragon in 1989, Ortiz in 1990, Brazilian Joselindo Rocha in 1993, Ecuadorian Rolando Vera in 1995 and Costa Rican Jose Luis Molina in 1996. Enditem
